Overall Satisfaction with Cornerstone Galaxy

We use it primarily as our LMS. It helped us automate training assignments, better track completion rates, and easily distribute eLearning tailored to our needs. Having it sync with our HRIS means we are no longer missing employees who have started or left the company. Additionally, it has empowered our employees to learn on their own.

Pros

  • Solid support system and resources.
  • Regular updates.
  • Great community, and community engagement, including regional user groups and virtual user groups.
  • Certifications and training.

Cons

  • Some areas of the system aren't user-friendly (Certifications) and haven't been updated in far too long.
  • While new features are added, they always seem to come at an additional cost, which can be frustrating on a tight budget.
  • Security has a lot of layers and can be complex to set up.
  • The Mobile app is still lacking, for example employees cannot use it to register for ILT.
  • Increase in completion of courses thanks to better tracking.
  • Ability to deliver eLearning courses and distribute videos.
  • Compliance training completion from 40% first year of LMS to 96% in 2025.
It's overall user-friendly, but some of the UX interfaces need updating, especially from an admin perspective. We have had to customize the home page to make the most-used areas easy to find for our employees; the learner home page had too much information, which confused them.
We tested Workday Learning and found that it was far less customizable than our current LMS. I will say that Workday has better mobile capabilities. However, the reporting and several additional functionalities were stronger with Cornerstone products. Additionally, Workday's cost was higher than Cornerstone's.

Cornerstone Galaxy is a good solution for larger companies that focus on training and want to offer a variety of options to their employees and departments. It is highly customizable. It does require a tech savvy team to set-up, and maintain. This is not a set-it-and-forget-it system. From an LMS perspective, it wouldn't be my top choice for employees who only need a mobile-friendly approach.
