Overall Satisfaction with Cornerstone OnDemand

We use Cornerstone as an HR system (incl. employment, holidays) and LMS. We have offices in a few European countries and use CSOD in all of them, so we have a common system and from the HQ side can see all employees. We also use additional possibilities of the system, e.g. once a year we invite managers to the 360 feedback.

  • the LMS administration panel is non-intuitive and requires a lot of time to create anything
  • time savings for mandatory trainings - goal not achieved
We have an internal peer-to-peer learning program in the company. Cornerstone enables us to engage employees better, as it enables us to use many different formats, e.g. video courses, presentations, tests. Playlists are also great because we can attach both internal and external materials, e.g. from TEDx. In addition, CSOD supports mandatory training, which must be conducted with us once a year.
Cornerstone is a more holistic system, we have all necessary modules in one place, don't need to switch between different systems. On the other hand, the admin panel in CSOD, especially in the learning module, is out of date, and preparing learning activities is very time-consuming. So as always there are pros and cons.
I can speak mainly about the learning module - it's too complex in my opinion, too many "clicks" [are] needed to set anything, some things seem to be the same but you need to choose them both, some are not signed as mandatory. I never know how the system will react when I choose specific settings, sometimes even CSOD employees are not sure.

There is probably no ideal system and Cornerstone has a lot of good features (especially new ones, like skills). Unfortunately "the old" part of the system, like the Learning module is out of date and often wastes Admin time. From a learning perspective - nice features allow for the efficient assignment of mandatory training to a selected group of employees.
