Pros
- security
- performance
- ANSI SQL compliance
Cons
- In my opinion, has room for improvement because the tablespace creation steps should be simplified
- increased uptime over other relational databases
- more scalability over MySQL and postgresql
In my opinion, disaster recover, encryption and security are the most valuable capabilities Db2 provides.
For us, the Db2 replication is superb and simple to setup and administer, which we couldn't do before.
