Overall Satisfaction with Delphix

We are using Delphix in our division of the company. We are using Delphix to do quick restores from the production database so that we can get the latest data to pre-prod as fast as possible. We are also using the bookmark feature so we can test new database code, with a quick way to go back to the starting point in case the latest code rouge in the database.

Pros

  • Quick Restore from production

Cons

  • Disk performance can be improved
  • Error handling can be better
  • Able to fix production issues faster
Delphix support could be a little better. It seems sometimes we bounce through support engineers until we get one that understands our issues and know how to fix it.

If you have multiple pre-prod databases that you have to keep up to date with the latest production data, Delphix would be a good fit for that. It will help speed up the process.
