I use Dovetail as the user research repository for my team

Pros

  • AI search of research insights
  • Organized by project
  • Easy to use tagging
  • Canvas mode is helpful

Cons

  • Sometimes only the text is added to the insight/doc, not the recording
  • Cost savings has been great for our small startup team
  • The flexibility to only have a couple logins has been great for our team
It speeds up the time it takes for me to find evidence of top research insights
Cross functional team members now feel more connected to our users. Engineers enjoy watching user clips so they can understand issues first hand
It is very good but I have experienced a couple bugs. One is that when I select a clip that I want to add to a doc, sometimes it only adds the text and not the video. I don't know why this happens
