Overall Satisfaction with Dovetail
We have a variety of teams that use Dovetail, with use-cases ranging from qualitative survey data analysis to interview transcription and analysis. The goal of these projects is to uncover new trends, themes, and ideas for ways in which we can improve our business functioning and current technology or offerings as well as implement new, untapped features.
Pros
- Interview Transcription
- Insight Identification
- Report Creation
Cons
- Comparing & Contrasting themes/findings across groups based on field information
- More in-depth analytic capabilities for survey responses (e.g., analyzing trends based on specific demographic data collected)
- Editing the selection or length of video clips included in reports
- Time Savings
- Improve Decision-Making
- New Insights
The automated transcription capabilities in Dovetail are vastly superior to the products we have internally to transcribe recorded meetings. It is able to accurately identify technical jargon which makes it easier for anyone to understand what's being discussed by just reading the transcription as opposed to being reliant on playing the video to hear exactly what was discussed.
The ability to share reports, insights, recordings, and information with the WHOLE team via invitation to view has been helpful in keeping everyone updated with our research findings. Additionally, having multiple team members on the license has allowed us to work together on projects simultaneously, improving the speed with which we can finish projects and accomplish tasks.
- Webex App
- Medallia
We currently have access to both of the listed programs through our company, but they were lacking in the ability to either accurately transcribe the interviews (which would lead to extra effort and time going in to correct the transcription errors) or would not analyze interviews at all and could only handle text which, again, would rely on accurate transcriptions to get insights and analysis. Having it all-in-one was the much better option.
