Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

We are a small engineering bureau. We make some machinery designs and we are welding consultants. We use Draftsight as a complementary software for 2D partial drawings and for customer's drawings revisions or modifications. We primarly use Creo Direct Modelling for main projects. It is used by myself mainly.
  • Alternative to AutoCAD
  • Low cost
  • Reliable
  • It might improve the use of back infinite lines to buitlt any geometry
  • The need to introduce always distances from last point to make a geometry is very slow
  • It might improve intuitive drawing. Sorry, I love the way ME10 and Creo annotation work
  • Not as positive as I looked for
  • But allows us to make some simple drawings avoiding high cost software
We consider it equivalent to AutoCAD in 2D
But worse than PTC Creo
Simple 2D drawings in civil works.
Simple mechanical parts and assemblies
