Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

We use DraftSight to generate shop sketches and waterjet machine compatible layouts. We also use it to create quick sketches to conceptualize different design schemes.

  • Familiar interface
  • Compatible with other CAD formats
  • Crashes too often
  • Sometimes can lockup my computer forcing us to restart
  • Could use more intuitive commands
  • Worth it, it is a time saver

Works well for shop support sketches and conceptual layouts. However, the 2D format is not acceptable to many of the customers who either cannot read drawings or like to see detailed 3D isometric views.
