Overall Satisfaction with Firstup (Dynamic Signal + SocialChorus)
We're using Firstup to better communicate with our front line associates across our company. It bridges a gap that currently exists between the support office and the field. We are currently in pilot (roughly 1500 participants), but we intend to launch company-wide in October. We will share company news, successes, and initiatives that we currently only share through in-restaurant meetings.
- The app is extremely user friendly and similar to the type of apps our younger associates currently use.
- The availability of quick links within the app is great to direct our associates to resources they tend to forget about.
- On the back end, the experience has been seamless for our IT Crew who have helped to develop the app.
- While having the app tied directly into Workday is great for many reasons, it also creates some amount of difficulty in targeting specific groups of people if they don't match the Workday hierarchy.
- Our associates in the field use Workday on a limited basis, so remembering their Workday login information to log in to the app is challenging. It would be nice if they could have a different password for the app.
- This remains to be seen. Since we are in pilot, we will know the answer to this better once we launch company-wide.
- With the locations currently in pilot, we've seen a new way to engage with our associates, and the thought is that we will see this ultimately lead to reduced turnover because people feel more informed with the company direction.
- Workday
While I am not in IT, I know that there were some issues with hierarchy and target groups, due to the way our organization is set up in Workday.
This is great for us because we need to target different audiences. For example, we may target only the members of the support office. Or, we may have information that needs to be shared with our regional or area leaders, but not our front line crew. Then there is content that we want to go directly to the front line crew. When we target front line crew, we are able to include all of the other audiences as well. The only issue is that it would be nice to select individuals to add to target groups for specific content. For example, we may have information that needs to go to our area leaders and ten specific members of the support office. We can't currently target both without targeting the entire office.
I would say that it hasn't. This is because this is a supplemental project. For us to automate key business processes, Firstup would have to be a replacement for some of our current programs, and that is not how we've chosen to utilize it.
