Use Cases and Deployment Scope

edX for Business is used to provide professional development for staff. We use it weekly in-house and within the community. It fills the need for individuals to attend in-person events where they would need to leave campus. This also fills the need to have a large variety of options for everyone. Some of our leaders are able to fully participate

Usability

The adaptation of edX for Business is varied within the organization given that we are multigenerational. Depending on which side of the age spectrum one side is more open to using it and having their professional learning virtual and on their preferred pace. The other half prefers in-person or scheduled live time for their professional learning.

Alternatives Considered

The only other professional learning we have used is to hire an educator and have a live zoom meeting which is essentially what edX for Business provides on an on-demand format. This is our first program and so far enjoying the transition.

It helps with bridging the gap in certain topics that a business many need to keep their employees need to stay up to date with. It also helps with onboarding, if a person is lacking in a skill or knowledge, this is a resource to help them gain that knowledge
