Overall Satisfaction with Ektron Web Content Management System (Discontinued)

We use it to build client websites, which are used by different client departments to manage their website.
  • It gives you an opportunity to reuse content; it can reference multiple content blocks on different parts of the site
  • It's robust with lots of capabilities. Taxonomies, metadata definitions can be used to enhance the website and maintain it
  • Work area structure where different parts are defined clearly
  • API slowness
  • Lot of issues when integrating page builder which always causes issues while moving widgets or having the client use it
  • Restoring deleted content
  • Provide different options for menu to pass in class names or any definitions. Would be better if there were an option to update the menu items display list which would help different implementations.
  • Improvement on lient projects and better customer service
  • The biggest issue is with support where sometimes issues are delayed in getting fixed which leads us difficult situation while using the product. This weakens client trust
  • Big companies are using the product which increases client confidence
Because of the robust API Ektron has an advantage The simplicity and tall he option that Ektron provides compared to the other CMS platforms put it ahead of the competition.
Ektron is very well suited for a content web site which is around 200 pages. If there is lot of content and functionality, it can causes issues since the API sometimes takes a while to execute. The API framework has increased load time but can be still improved.

The interface is user friendly and makes it good to organize the content and items.

Using Ektron Web Content Management System (Discontinued)

It has become a little pricey these days to renew the licenses.
