Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We make documents, eText, and tests accessible for students with disabilities. The equation is beneficial in working on STEM classes, as it can capture equations and insert them into documents in an accessible format.

Pros

Capture equations with the screen capture tool.
Edit equations.
Embed equations into documents in MathML and images with spoken text in Alt-Text.

Cons

Easier embedding. Takes many steps.
More chemistry/physics features.

I'm not the person who made the final purchasing decision, but I was the person pushing for the purchase from the beginning.

MathType

Each product has benefits over the other. MathType's older versions had their head and shoulders above their competition. Their new version removed a lot of features, integration, and capabilities. Equatio is starting to take the lead over MathType and is evolving constantly.
