Overall Satisfaction with F5 Distributed Cloud WAF ( Web Application Firewall)

So this product protects our websites and web properties. So it is our first line of defense in protecting our websites and e-commerce that comes into our company.
  • It does identify any malicious activity coming to our website. Like if somebody is sending any DDoS traffic or any SQL injection, any of the web applications OS top tens, it does really well and that's what we're using it for.
  • So we just had some performance issues when it comes to routing. Because the web application firewall sits in front of our website, which is hosted on-site, we had some trouble with the VGP protocols between the two sites and it took us a while to figure it out. So that is probably one area where we could improve. Otherwise, when it comes to the WAF functionality itself, it's really good.
  • It gives us peace of mind knowing that we have an easy way to mitigate any bad traffic coming to our websites and e-commerce. So it really gives us peace of mind. It doesn't affect the job projecting where the traffic is coming from. We actually have the bot functionality as well, so if there is any bot attacking our website, it automatically prevents it. So it's been pretty productive.
We're actually a little different. We're actually on-prem. We don't have a cloud workload in this case. We actually have our websites deployed on-prem, however, we do have that deployed in front of it. So it's a hybrid model.
Yes - So we have on-prem and we have BIG-IP actually as well, another F5 product. But in front of BIG-IP, we have WAF. So the BIG-IP does the load balancing and the WAF is doing the web application firewall protection.

Yes

Yes

Did F5 Distributed Cloud WAF (Web Application Firewall) live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of F5 Distributed Cloud WAF (Web Application Firewall) go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy F5 Distributed Cloud WAF (Web Application Firewall) again?

Yes

I think protecting the website itself and any web applications. The WAF is really effective and that is what it's best suited for. When it comes to network traffic or any network filtering, etcetera, it's probably not suited for it. But when it comes to web applications, it's definitely well within the line of work.
