Overall Satisfaction with Financial Edge NXT
Financial Edge NXT is used by the finance department for accounting, reporting (both corporate and for grants), accounts payable, payroll, budgeting and forecasting. We had previously used QuickBooks for these functions but needed the added flexibility and reporting that Financial Edge provides us. We have since move from the on site hosted version to NXT due to the new user interface and added efficiency.
- Reporting - Filters, interface and ability to export seamlessly to Excel.
- Account Payable - The NXT interface allows for faster AP entry.
- Project reporting and views - The enhanced views in NXT eliminate the need to run reports constantly to answer most questions.
- Budget - Still a work in process and am hopeful for the future release.
- Dashboard - Just now rolling these out and still need refinement.
- Journal Entries - If more than ten lines the interface can be a bit cumbersome and currently no way to import without going back to the database view.
- Has allowed us to secure multi-million dollar grants due to the reporting capabilities we did not have before.
More flexibility when it comes to number or tracking options (project, dept, etc). QuickBooks is a good solution for small organizations but we had outgrown it (but still use if for our offices overseas).
