Overall Satisfaction with Forcepoint Web Security

Forcepoint Web Security is being used across the whole organization on our servers and our PCs, including laptops. We use it to filter websites and protect us from accessing URLs that may be harmful. It addresses the need to have protection on our devices even when users are out of the office.
  • It prevents users from accessing websites that may have recently been created for the purpose of distributing Malware.
  • It prevents users from accidentally or intentionally accessing websites that are considered inappropriate for a work environment.
  • It allows us to create different policies for different teams in our organization.
  • Forcepoint Web Security can be improved by making the setup less bloated. We have 2 proxy servers clustered together for each environment, and we currently have environments for our campus, server, dmz, and external networks. The setup and maintenance of the application can be cumbersome.
  • Updating the agent needs to be implemented better. Instead of having to create and push out updates for the agents, there should be a way agents can get software updates directly from Forcepoint Web Security.
  • Access the Web Content gateway to make changes is also not as streamlined as I would like it and should be improved.

Do you think Forcepoint Web Security delivers good value for the price?

Would you buy Forcepoint Web Security again?

  • We have had potential malware outbreaks prevented because of Forcepoint Web Security
  • Questionable access of certain materials on the internet has been prevented because of our implementation.
  • The organization's network resources now has more bandwidth because of the restrictions the application provide.
Our organization benefits from the added protection of our laptops when they are not physically on our network, especially during the pandemic. Most of our users have been working from home, and we have the peace of mind that even though the user is not on our network, the agent is able to stop them from accessing malicious websites.
There have been a few times when a user has requested that we allow certain cloud apps accessible through the Forcepoint Web Security environment. Before we allow these apps, Forcepoint Web Security gives us a rating if the application has a high risk or not. We are then able to take a deeper look to make an informed decision on if we will allow access to the app or not.
Our organization has definitely benefited from the Advanced Classification Engine. I can go into our Forcepoint Web Security dashboard and see quite a number of hits where the engine has prevented threats. This provides us with reassurance that our investment is protecting the company which is something that the upper management likes to know about.

[Forcepoint Web Security is well suited] if you have an organization where there are quite a bit of servers and PCs that access the internet. If a user's internet usage logging is needed, then this product is well suited for your environment. If you have a smaller organization, Forcepoint Web Security may be a bit of an overkill for your establishment.
