Overall Satisfaction with Halogen Software
Currently we are utilizing the eAppraisal and eCompensation modules for our company. We had a lack of clear goals and professional development for our employees as it varied company wide depending on the department management. With implementing the Halogen system we have moved to quarterly reviews and bonuses. Our entire organization has been trained on Halogen by our internal human resources team. It has allowed us to ensure all employees are receiving proper goals from their manager and create confidence in professional development (or at least working towards it)
Pros
- Customer Service. Halogen's customer service is ON POINT. Whenever a member of HR has a question we either contact our implementation specialist or the main customer support line. Each time we call we have our questioned answered. You never feel rushed and they ensure that your are comfortable with the system and any changes you may have to make.
- Implementation. Our implementation specialist and trainer were fantastic. They have the best knowledge of the product and we received great advice when determining what would be the best format, options, and candid issues we may run into when rolling out the system. Nothing was left unsaid whether good or room for more development and opportunity in the system.
Cons
- eCompensation. I have really dug deep into the eCompensation system when it comes to quarterly bonuses and administration of refresh stock options. The eCompensation module is very limited when it comes to the administration of these two areas. It becomes heavy lifting each quarter on the back end where it should be more automated based off of information that is flowed in from HRIS connect. If Halogen was able to build a more automated eCompensation module specific to quarterly bonuses and stock administration I would recommend Halogen to peer companies.
- Halogen has allowed us to automate our review process. This means that instead of keeping paper copies and a manual tracking spreadsheet of who has turned in their review; Halogen has allowed the HR team to really hold employees, particularly managers, accountable to accurate completion of employee reviews.
The customer service with Halogen was on point and were able to competitively persuade with the capabilities of the system alongside with great pricing for the system. Halogen still has work to do on their interface however they are moving in the right direction and the system is making a difference in our employee population.

4 - The ability to quickly learn a complex system and have the communication skills to describe a particular issue you may be having with Halogen customer support in order to troubleshoot accordingly. If you have those 2 key skills Halogen personnel will be able to guide and lead you to a successful implementation and experience.
- Creating quarterly goals for all employees.
- Ensuring all employees have a professional development plan in place
- Streamlining the on boarding experience for all employees
- Utilizing the system for quarterly bonuses (not just merit increases)
- Utilizing Halogen for an annual RSU refresh grant for all employees
- 360 module is of some interest as we received feedback that this would help quarterly reviews become more robust.
- Our customer support team has expressed interest in Halogen for their training. Our Director of CS has dug further into this.

Our implementation specialist was on point when I was trying to create the quarterly bonuses within eCompensation. He would make time for me almost every day on short notice to answer all of my questions....and let me tell you I have MANY of them. He always ensured I was comfortable with the system and never made me feel rushed. He wanted to ensure we as a company were successful utilizing the system to the maximum capabilities.
