Overall Satisfaction with Planful (formerly Host Analytics)

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Host is being used across our company. The FP&A group uses it daily and all other department managers use it monthly to review their budget vs. actual reports. It has helped department heads to become more independent by giving them the opportunity to review reports directly in Host as well as drilling down to the transaction detail.

Pros and Cons

Pros

It has given us the ability to create ad hoc reports faster and easier.
The similarities with Excel make it easy for everyone to use.
It has given us the opportunity to report and track (i.e. capital expenditures) things in a more efficient way that we couldn't report on prior to using Host.

Cons

There are certain formatting functions that we would like to see.
When running and creating reports that have rows that are grouped, we would like to have the ability to expand all rows at once.

Return on Investment

We have been able to provide information to senior management quicker and easier.

Alternatives Considered

Adaptive Insights

Overall we thought that Host fit our company better than Adaptive. We thought the tools that it had to offer were better. In addition, we liked the sales pitch better than Adaptive.

Likelihood to Recommend

We just completed our first budget using Host and overall it went pretty smooth. Each department is responsible for creating and entering their own budget in Host and we have received nothing but positive feedback on how easy it was to use and how they liked it better than our previous software.
