Overall Satisfaction with IBM Apptio

Apptio is used to identify and allocate our cloud spend across various buisness units, by allocating budgets charges and providing oversight on costs. Connected to our cloud tennants, billing data is pulled in and analysed, validated and allocated before the bills our paid and provides a look back / trends over time.

Pros

  • Visulise
  • Automatically import / connect to tenants

Cons

  • hard to set up
  • Support agents are not very knowlegable
  • Cost allocation
  • Cost realisation
  • Finance / IT Integration
data ingestion is direct from cloud platforms, budgeting and forecasting tools allow us to cross charge and make depts accountable for costs
really poor, with agents that dont turn up to meetings, know how a cloud env links to apptio and click aimlessly without understanding what fields are for
Apptio is better for forcasting and multi cloud

Cloud native cost platforms are richer and closer to real time however apptio links multiple tenants together
