Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloudability
From IT Finance perspective, IBM Cloudability is used to give finance analysts and leaders visibility into current and historical cloud spend at the app level. This allows our team to present trends to leaders for activities such as budget presentations, and work with IT counterparts to re-forecast application spend each month.
Pros
- easy to read tables for forecast spend vs actual spend
- able to view many months in the past for historical cost analysis
- able to create many unique reports for different user groups
Cons
- it's not intuitive to select a broad time range (more than one month) when viewing actual costs
- optimization and right sizing
- beginning to break down silos between IT finance, business and IT using Cloudability tools
- anyone in organization is able to view cloud costs
- IBM Apptio (formerly ApptioOne)
View cloud and overall IT costs (ie software, HW, capex, opex) in one tool. This is great when reviewing at month end with senior finance leaders.
