Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers

We are using Bare-Metal Servers to host web applications and REST APIs. We also use them for deployment and staging environments.
  • Good customization
  • Fast connectivity
  • Reliable hardware
  • Expensive compared to other providers.
  • Lack of included priority support.
  • Admin portal is slow and difficult to use.
  • Basic support response is extremely slow.
  • Costly product offerings
  • Reliable hardware
  • Reliable network performance
It is on par with other server systems.
I picked IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers because I was doing business with Softlayer before IBM acquired them. Unfortunately, the level of service has declined sharply since the acquisition.
When budget is a priority, I use AWS. When I need raw power and no support, I use IBM.
Their Bare Metal Servers are great and some of the most reliable I have used. However, I do believe they are overpriced, especially for SSD options in comparison with their competitors. Also, it baffles me as to why premium support isn't included in Bare Metal products, as they are priced far higher than their virtual compute products.
