Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Object Storage

IBM Cloud Object Storage is being used by a department. We run IoT service in IBM Cloud for the connected devices that we make. We use IBM Cloud Object Storage to store images taken by those connected devices. Users then have the capability to view the stored images in the mobile apps.



Pros

  • Good region selections
  • Good web UI support
  • Easy to configure

Cons

  • Search function in the web UI has room for improvement
  • We are able to use different storage classes to lower the infrastructure cost
  • We are able to store all images with no storage operation work
IBM Cloud Object Storage is well suited to store unstructured data. It has different storage classes to choose based on requirements such as availability, performance, cost, etc. Buckets can be used to control the data grouping and data access.

It can also be used for scenarios like data backup, or long-term. cheap, persistent storage.
