Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Object Storage

IBM Cloud Object Storage is being used by a department. We run IoT service in IBM Cloud for the connected devices that we make. We use IBM Cloud Object Storage to store images taken by those connected devices. Users then have the capability to view the stored images in the mobile apps.

  • Good region selections
  • Good web UI support
  • Easy to configure
  • Search function in the web UI has room for improvement
  • We are able to use different storage classes to lower the infrastructure cost
  • We are able to store all images with no storage operation work
Yes, we chose the most cost efficient storage class to minimize the cost. For example, we use cold for backup data and active for regular user data.
  • IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service
  • IBM Cloud Databases
We are able to select the best IBM products that satisfy our service requirements. With the combination of IBM Cloud products, we don't need to spend much time on the infrastructure level. Instead we can spend time improving applications that can serve our consumers better.
IBM Cloud Object Storage is well suited to store unstructured data. It has different storage classes to choose based on requirements such as availability, performance, cost, etc. Buckets can be used to control the data grouping and data access.

It can also be used for scenarios like data backup, or long-term. cheap, persistent storage.
