Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Object Storage
We have used several IBM Cloud products. IBM Cloud Object Storage allowed us to use a solution for unstructured data storage within the ecosystem of our other products. Most systems, including ours, has significant unstructured data, so finding a scalable solution for this data, and APIs to read and write this data, was paramount.
- Scalable unstructured data storage
- Built-out client APIs
- Competitive IO
- The price
- Better storage class management
- A universal source of truth for our unstructured data.
- Faster read/write times resulting in quicker job completion.
- Useable client APIs resulting in less code and more developer time.

The storage class tiers are great for cost management. Essentially, moving data to and from the right tier can save a lot of money because 'colder' data costs less to store. For data that we are not accessing very often, putting it in the cool or cold tier saves us a lot.
Do you think IBM Cloud Object Storage delivers good value for the price?
Yes
Are you happy with IBM Cloud Object Storage's feature set?
Yes
Did IBM Cloud Object Storage live up to sales and marketing promises?
Yes
Did implementation of IBM Cloud Object Storage go as expected?
Yes
Would you buy IBM Cloud Object Storage again?
Yes
Both products are very similar, offering cloud based unstructured data object storage. I think each works the best when it is being accessed from other products in that cloud's ecosystem. IBM Cloud Object Storage definitely stands up to other products, however those products are solid as well and we have used them successfully.
- IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service
- IBM Cloud Virtual Servers
- IBM Cloud Container Registry
As mentioned in other sections, the real Return on Investment in my eyes of using these products is when using them together. They integrate very well together. A lot of the products are actually built on the same infrastructure, so using them in conjunction has several clear benefits that we've seen.
