Power Systems Virtual Server on IBM Cloud for IBMi

Overall Satisfaction with IBM Power System Virtual Server

IBM Power System Virtual Server is being used to offload our local and less sensitive workloads to the cloud for processing. It is used by a single department as the end-users do not need to know or do not get to know that the information they have requested was processed on a cloud platform. Power System Virtual servers solves the issue of high resource utilization in our local environments as some of our workloads are processed on the cloud.

IBM boasts to be the only vendor which has 0 known vulnerabilities in their hypervisor. This has been true for a very long time. Since there are no known vulnerabilities, there are no planned or unplanned outages for patching. This increases the uptime of the servers which in turn allows high data availability.
The IBM Power System Virtual servers are hosted on the IBM cloud which is highly secure and scalable but at the same time user-friendly too. There have been occasions where the help text provided by IBM has made it easier to carry out configurations without end-user or administrator errors. The documentation provided by IBM is quite extensive and provides detailed information on how to use the Power System Virtual Systems.
Since most of the organizations that use IBM Power Systems to host their applications deal with critical or sensitive data, a lot of organizations are hesitant to move their data to the cloud. However, if there are certain batch jobs [that] need to be processed and do not contain sensitive data, these can be offloaded to [an] IBM Power System Virtual server. IBM Power System Virtual Servers are also well suited in environments where one of the requirements is to have resource mobility. Since the virtual servers support live partition mobility, it makes it easy to move the sources between data centers.
