Overall Satisfaction with IBM SPSS Statistics

IBM SPSS Statistics is the go-to software for analyzing large datasets in a market research environment. Already at University this is a trained software package that students learn to work with. It allows to perform large scale analysis such as regression analysis or cluster analysis. It allows to clean, sort, and structure datasets. Using the built in analysis features you can measure R2 or confidence intervals easily.

Pros

  • Clean and sort large datasets
  • Analyze and handle large datasets
  • Run standardized queries such as regression analysis

Cons

  • It requires a certain level of expertise or background knowledge
  • It can generate large amounts of output tables and statistics
  • Visualization is key in a business setting
  • It saves time and therefore money analyzing large datasets
  • It provides a uniform standard of analysis, so all employees can follow the steps.
  • It avoids human error that can happen in alternatives such as Excel
IBM SPSS Statistics is much more professional and geared towards market research applications. The built in queries save time and avoid mistakes. In Excel you can also do powerful things, but it is less geared towards scientific or statistical research. Running a regression analysis is therefore much easier in IBM SPSS Statistics than it would be in Excel.

Do you think IBM SPSS Statistics delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with IBM SPSS Statistics's feature set?

Yes

Did IBM SPSS Statistics live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of IBM SPSS Statistics go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy IBM SPSS Statistics again?

Yes

It is well suited for cleaning, structuring and analyzing large datasets. Especially if you can import the data from another source such as an online survey. You can manually add data but that is time consuming and prone to errors. If your business requires scientific research results, for example with confidence level intervals, then this is a great tool.
