Overall Satisfaction with IBM webMethods

IBM webMethods is used by our customers in many ways for A2A and B2B applications. EDI, API gateway, and data persistence are a few of the strongest points of IBM webMethods software. This allows real-time data to be transmitted in less than a few seconds or a fraction of a second. Also, it is a very reliable and consistent product. A lot of ERP and 3rd party systems can be integrated using IBM webMethods.

Pros

  • IBM webMethods is excellent for EDI.
  • IBM webMethods is awesome for API gateway.
  • IBM webMethods works awesome with A2A applications.
  • IBM webMethods has a huge number of connectors from SAP to Salesforce and Concur and many more.

Cons

  • IBM webMethods Deployers can be improved, they are good but scope to improve.
  • IBM webMethods version management is a bit complex can be simplified.
  • Lot of time savings.
  • Manual data enter is lowest once done right.
  • Super good with compliance.
Data persistence is great, no doubt about it. EDI is one of the best features. API gateway FTP modules. So many connectors.
Poor deployer earlier, now better. API gateways Improved dashboard.
Oracle Integration Cloud vs IBM webMethods, hands down IBM webMethods is way better. Lots of features and ease of doing webMethods and super stable stack.

I have personally used and implemented IBM webMethods, Oracle Integration Suite, SAP XI, and many more. I find that IBM webMethods, once implemented, has a super low maintenance cost. I have seen IBM webMethods implemented and not upgraded for 10 years, yet it works smoothly.
