Overall Satisfaction with IBM webMethods

We use IBM webMethods to help clients achieve Supply-Chain optimization. We are using B2B Integration and partner on-boarding solutions to automate client's business use cases.
I like the ease of use and unified UI that improves developer productivity.
With addition of MQ and API Agents - it would be easier for Integration developers as well as business (citizen) developers to innovate faster.

Pros

  • B2Bi
  • Out of the box connectivity with variety of applications/systems
  • Transformation and Enrichment

Cons

  • Event Driven Architecture
  • Private cloud /self hosted control plane
  • Natural language for developing Integration flows
  • Development agility
  • Business agility
  • Support/operational agility
I like the number of connectors they have off the shelf to connect to almost all the systems. This reduces the efforts required to integrate those systems.
Also the cookbooks/patterns that are available to create integrations gives a quick start.
The observability dashboard is also important to understand health as well as issues with Integration and debug more accurately.
Unified platform and ease of licensing compared to CP4I.
Earlier for different Integration patterns - we used to have different tools.
With IBM webMethods Hybrid Integration Platform - we can solve all Integration patterns like - A2A, B2B Integration, decoupled - Event Driven Architecture and MFT from single product/platform.
I have seen that other products have different UI to address various business problems like messaging, EDA, MFT. IBM webMethods has unified platform and can also support hybrid Integration. I think it is all rounded iPaaS tool with ease of development and ease of operation.
The licensing model is also better compared to earlier IBM Integration products before CP4I.
