CSSA is great for OT staff
Overall Satisfaction with Infosec Skills
We use the Infosec CSSA (Certified SCADA Security Architect) in our department for our SCADA administrators. This gives us a good base for security measures with our SCADA system and also helps us in interfacing with our IT department for joint ventures. It also shows competence in this area for external audits.
Pros
- The class was the right amount of depth for our needs.
- The classes were a week long boot camp style which is a good amount of time.
- The test was included in the class.
Cons
- Training at the customer location
- It is nice to have the certification for audits and possible promotions.
- The improved security mindset is great for our department.
- Allowed us to handle most of our own security measures
We chose Infosec due to their reputation and a recommendation from the IT manager. We did not really evaluate other providers.
We were able to almost immediately start using the skill we had learned in the Infosec training. We have a second SCADA administrator now and he will be going to the next CSSA training available in our area and after this training the CSSA is required to hold the SCADA administrator position.
The benefits have been that we can now manage most of our own cyber security needs internally. This course also helped us have a more cyber security mindset which we have tried to pass on through the division.
