Use Cases and Deployment Scope

KnowBe4 PhishER/PhishER Plus is our chosen solution for automated phish submission review and remediation. It allows for an AI review of submissions and automated search and removal for similar emails in our organization. This helps to remove the manual review for identifying threats and manual remediation for removing them throughout our organization.

The automated review allows for a real-time response rather than awaiting a human's review

Time Savings

Without KnowBe4 PhishER/PhishER Plus as the sole administrator it would require all phishing emails be manually reviewed by me. This means PTO and vacation days would get no response. The results are much faster than I could review even if this was my only responsibility. The Phish RIP also saves so much time instead of running manual searches and mailbox deletions.

PhishER Capabilities

We have implemented all of them except for PhishFlip.

These all work together to form a nearly comprehensive phishing email defense system that minimizes the need for human intervention. I would estimate that KnowBe4 PhishER/PhishER Plus saves our organization 10-20 hours per month of investigation and remediation.

Usability

The system is very intuitive and allows for high customization. The automations could allow for additional flexibility but all of our needs are met by the platform.

Alternatives Considered

Proofpoint Threat Response Auto-Pull

We were already using KnowBe4 for Security Awareness Training and its deep integration with the KnowBe4 suite of products made it the best choice and also very affordable compared to other solutions.

KnowBe4 PhishER/PhishER Plus has removed a lot of strain on our small Information Technology team that also has to focus on many tasks. By automating the first line of review and remediation it saves time and also allows for much faster response and resolution when real threats are identified.
