Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Capture

We are in the healthcare industry and use Kofax to scan medical information into the our EHR.

Pros

  • Images are easy to manipulate prior to incorporating them into the electronic health record.
  • It is very easy to use and compatible with our current software.
  • Very useful for our batch scanning needs.

Cons

  • We have at least 10+ licenses so it can be somewhat pricey.
  • We were able to decrease personnel expenditures as there was not a need for individuals to index documents prior to incorporating them into the record.
We use it specifically for data capture of printed medical text. It scans bar codes on recognizing labs, encounter notes, prescriptions, and outside medical records. The business office uses the program for billing and scanning purposes.
