Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF
I am the only person in my organization who uses Kofax Power PDF. I mostly use the create/convert assistant feature to create larger documents from individual PDFs. At times, I use the editing feature on Kofax Power PDF to individualize and number student documents using the Bates numbering feature. Before I moved to this job, I worked at a law firm and there we took advantage of all the features- from editing, numbering, creating, converting, etc. It was at that job that I found out about this tool and when I moved jobs I asked my new employer to provide the program for me.

- It loads really slowly
- Although it was expensive to get the program (just under $200), I found that it was nice that there was only that one time charge. If there were updating or annual fees, I think that would be a deal breaker. Thankfully there isn't, though!
I think the program is very easy to use. The commands are all on top and none of them are really hidden. It's easy to navigate across commands and the top ribbon, especially when compared to other PDF reading programs. Overall, I would say after a day of exploration in the document, it's relatively simple.
I think Adobe Acrobat is very slow and does not perform well with large documents. I often have documents that are thousands of pages long and with Adobe it's very difficult to open and load the document, let alone make changes. Kofax Power PDF, on the other hand, responds and performs well regardless of the document size.

The features/ commands that have been most useful to myself and my company have been the create assistant which takes individual PDF documents and combines them into one. The Bates numbering feature also greatly helps us. The signature and redact field commands are also very helpful to us because, as a school, a lot of things require parental signature, and a lot of things are confidential.
