Overall Satisfaction with Linode

We use Linode to host all of our internal Linux-based systems as well as public-facing services such as our corporate website.

Pros

  • Ease of configuration.
  • Economical (especially bandwidth).
  • Predictable pricing.

Cons

  • More configuration options for storage (PIOPS, etc.).
  • Related services such as VPCs.
  • Predictable pricing.
  • Easy configuration.
  • Reliable.
Compared to the "big three" cloud providers, Linode does not have the enormous range of service offerings that they do. I would not attempt to build the next Instagram on Linode. But for companies that simply want a straight-forward cloud provider, they're definitely our favorite.
Every time we've had an issue, it's been addressed promptly and correctly.
For SME-class cloud infrastructure, it is hard to argue against Linode. They have highly predictable pricing, a reasonable range of instance types, and are quite economical.
