Overall Satisfaction with Linode

Linode has been a trusted provider of cloud based infrastructure to our company for over 10 years. We have seen Linode grow from a small reliable cloud provider into a full featured platform with the same reliability and support. We no longer need to worry about hosting our software in house because Linode is a more cost effective platform.

Pros

  • Support! Always quick responses from support.
  • Stability - In 10 years, I can count the downtown on one hand.
  • Easy! Need more resources? Click a button and reboot.

Cons

  • I'd like to see billing in local currency.
  • Stability for customers.
  • Reputation for reliability.
Prior to this we always used shared hosting. That limited our potential for growth and what kinds of data we could store for our customers. By switching to Linode, we could assure our customers of their privacy while providing a stable service. Customer service at other providers doesn't even begin to compare to the friendliness and knowledge of Linode staff.
I've had to contact support a number of times over the years for minor problems here and there. I have always received a prompt response that addressed the questions I asked. There were no boilerplate responses from these guys! I even called to ask for local currency once and they gave me a free month for the 'inconvenience!'

Linode is well suited for growth. You can easily start small while you are getting set up and Linode has everything you need to grow. More resources are readily available when needed. Linode's large worldwide footprint allows you to host where your customers are.

I find that Linodes block offerings are not as robust as they should be with a minimum block of 250gb.
