Overall Satisfaction with Lucidchart

I gave an 8 because I am already an advanced user of diagramming software like AutoCAD, MS Visio, SmartDraw, etc. so my experience in starting with Lucidchart may be skewed as it is second nature to me. A novice may have a little difficulty at first but the templates do help. Perhaps more interactive guides would help novices but I didn't need them.
I use it exclusively for producing process flow charts, SWOT analyses, and other similar charts to graphically represent decisions that otherwise would be too voluminous or confusing only in prose. The software is web-based so I have easy access regardless of where I work, and I currently work both remotely and in-office depending on schedule, and the cloud save features are important to me. I can also export to Visio or other formats that can be read by others in the organization who do not have Lucidchart software. Additionally, the templates, although they could be better and more varied, are useful. I enjoy using the tool, and even use it for my personal use as well, to the point where I made a personal purchase and did not buy through the company. I consider it a valuable asset in my toolbag and it makes me more competitive as a Manager and Process Champion.

Pros

  • Cloud save
  • Easy start to creating charts with templates
  • Exporting
  • Aligning shapes with smart rulers

Cons

  • Template variety
  • Adding additional pages with terminators to link between them
  • A desktop app would be nice
  • It has allowed us to take steps in the direction of ISO 9001 compliance, which the company has never had before.
  • Processes have been established that reduce uncertainty and thus time wasted in figuring how to handle a particular situation e.g. quotations, purchasing.
I have not had a chance to try it with Salesforce yet, even though we do use Salesforce. Lucidchart on its own along with integration into Microsoft Office (Visio & PDF) are as far as I use it. I do not invite other collaborators, as I only have one license.
I have never had to use Lucidchart support so I cannot rate it highly or lowly. I gave it a neutral position.

Do you think Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite's feature set?

Yes

Did Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite again?

Yes

Lucidchart was cheaper, but much more closely aligned with Visio in terms of the feature set and ease of use, plus it exported to Visio.
Lucidchart is well suited if you are looking to do process charts, diagrams, etc. without access to MS Visio, or heavy integration with the Office 365 suite. If you are invested already in Office 365, MS Visio may be a better alternative, but it is nice to have diagrams that are well polished and do not look like they are the generic Microsoft templates.
