Overall Satisfaction with Lucidchart

While it is easier than many products out there, I do find Lucidchart often presents challenges. Selecting the correct node to make connections, selecting the text one wants to edit or replace, getting a smart connection, selecting only the items one wants to select to move, and resizing a set of objects could all be easier.
We build maps of family trees and genetic connections to help determine and explain various relationships to our clients. We also sometimes build pedigrees for a client. I use Lucidchart to build a YDNA descendant tree for a YDNA project I administer to incorporate data from multiple sources into one place.
  • Drawing simple shapes.
  • Showing interconnections among shapes.
  • Offering a variety of colors and line strengths to emphasize work.
  • Making connections easier.
  • Making selecting text to be edited a LOT easier.
  • Maybe adding an option to force all connections to be smart, rather than try to wrangle the mouse to get your smart links to work.
  • Improved branding efforts.
  • Unified the way we present our data.
  • Allow for collaboration on a project with ease.
Honestly, I have not used Lucidchart in this way.
When I have used it, they often gave me a good answer. Finding a way to access it was a challenge. And the delay in getting an answer is frustrating. Typically we need an answer NOW, which I realize is not always practical, but not having it NOW means we go elsewhere to do what we were trying to accomplish.

I find Lucidchart to be the quickest and easiest way to build and display information about genetic networks in a way that is easy for the novice to understand. As well as for the professional to deal with complex situations. Having a corporate pack of shapes and colors helps to brand our work.
