Overall Satisfaction with Marketo

We are currently leveraging Marketo for lead generation, initiatives, newsletters, and ABM.
  • abm
  • analytics
  • program organization
  • Email editor could use some updating
  • Overall Admin UX design
  • Account Management--sometimes our rep is overwhelmed
Pardot has a better UX design, but Marketo is by and away more advanced when it comes to reporting and email program designs
Marketo's programs are very advanced and allow for robust reporting.

Learnings & Advice

Lead Routing and Scoring for our sales reps has been critical and very achievable with Marketo. Weirdly enough, the most difficult learning cover for was learning the actual UI--folder organization, Marketo jargon, and trigger vs batch--the standard processes. They've turned out to be the best features for me and a preference over other looks like Pardot.
For our B2B accounts that show intent--we've created a custom field on the lead object that allows us to push a trigger to add to a SFDC campaign that allows reps to see which contacts are the "hand raisers"
Don't be afraid to take a course or two to learn the ropes. Leverage the marketo community---it's filled with amazing experts and the response and interaction is great. I've learned a lot from other Marketo users.
Amazing ways to integrate with other tools, B2B marketing capabilities within the tool, sales enablement and developer insights!!
Align folder structures with any other admins to keep your instance clean, always train your reps on insights, and leverage marketo to help clean up your SFDC or other databases!
