Overall Satisfaction with Marketo

Marketo is used solely by the Marketing Department. Marketo allows us to nurture prospects and existing customers, as well as measure performance of our Marketing campaigns in conjunction with our CRM, Salesforce.

Cons

  • Analytics -- Not robust
  • Marketo is buggy -- often times out or smart campaigns need to be reconfigured when changes don't save
  • Better selection of Marketo standard email templates in Design Studio
Marketo provides email performance metrics that SFDC does not. On the other hand, SFDC provides better opportunity and influence metrics that Marketo does not. We did not necessarily choose Marketo over SFDC, we use them both in conjunction.
Marketo is suitable for Mid-market or Enterprise companies who need a substantial database allowance. For small business, it is probably too expensive and complex to use.
