Overall Satisfaction with Marketo Marketing Automation

Marketo is used across our entire sales and marketing department across multiple lines of business. It helps us generate and nurture leads to warm them up then send to sales. We also nurture existing customers with the software

Pros

  • Tracking lead behaviors and history, their interaction with our marketing materials
  • Serves as a hub into which many marketing technologies can integrate
  • Wealth of training materials and educational opportunities provided

Cons

  • Customer service - though responsive, not often very helpful unless they can direct you toward an exact product document
  • The reporting does not keep up with the data the software collects.
  • The landing page and email editors are not the most user friendly.
  • Better quality of leads being sent to sales.
  • Much more efficient, and overall better quality, marketing due to cloning and customizable options in the software.
  • Somewhat better analytics and lead lifecycle tracking.
Marketo is the best because this is their core product and they are independently owned. Competitors are all operating under bigger umbrellas so i dont sense the same level of innovation that Marketo is seeking. Very strong community of loyal users as well. I have never been involved in the tool selection process, but this is what I have heard and experienced from other users.
Can really be scaled up or down to all sizes of businesses including catering to different languages? In terms of integrating with a CRM, if you have Salesforce you are in way better shape than if you have any other CRM. Get a clear understanding of how Marketo will help you install and integrate the software, and will they help you build templates and initial campaigns to launch? Try to get their help as much as possible.
