We are a company that has recently decided to start the paperless transition. This has helped with our document control so much. Everything is tracked revisions and easy to access during audits. We also use this for training and that has helped get away from different spreadsheet. The fact that it’s all online has helped the entire company look cleaner. Less filing cabinets and binders full of paper copies.

Showing the redline file to the trainee side by side with the new rev to facilitate training.
Some processes require many steps to reach
Adding new documents to folders automatically based on numbering

Return on Investment

Document Approval time has gone down. Instead of 3+weeks/ months to just days or 1 week.
People only working on current revision documents.
Everything is in one place from IMI to final acceptance.

Usability

It’s simple but it does take a while to learn and requires a lot of repeating until it becomes easier.

MasterControl Quality Excellence and the document rev tracking were very useful and well suited for external and internal audits. When the auditor would ask for a protocol, if we can’t remember the numbering the advance search would help by just entering some of the name. It also helped with tracking publishing date of new revisions.
