Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Visual Studio Code
Microsoft Visual Studio Code is currently in use by a number of cross-platform developers. We traditionally use Microsoft Visual Studio Code on Mac or other non-Microsoft development projects. We utilize this tool a lot for front end development. This Tool allows us to quickly and easily collaborate across a wide section of cross-platform developers.
- Ease of startup and use.
- Only need the packages you are working on and do not need to install a number of useless items.
- Very lightweight and fast to use due to its modular setup.
- Installing packages is sometimes a bit convoluted.
- Keeping other developers in sync with the 3rd party tools.
- Git integration is lacking.
- With a product that is free, we have seen endorsement ROI from a number of users.
- We have even allowed business users to install it and make small content changes on the fly, which allows us to empower our users even more.
- For the price, this tool cannot be beat.

We user all these products currently as each has its own place and time for use. The heavier developers use for stack Visual Studio. The front end developers tend to use Code as they are on Macs and want the lighter footprint. We still use Sublime and notepad ++ for other uses as well.
