Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used it as a tool to help our department keep up to date with ongoing daily operations. It replaced the daily stand up for us predominately, and also served as a great way to quickly get out information to a large group of people.

More powerful search/filtering would be nice

Alternatives Considered

Slack

Yammer seemed like a lite powered Slack that was just coming into its prime. Still a ways to go, but integration with Office365 was great.

It served as a great benefit as a corporate social network. It made daily stand ups near obsolete and we were able to always keep a constant line of communication open with the team.
