Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used Yammer for departmental communication and collaboration. It helped us organize related project ideas and notify each other of changes. Now Microsoft Teams has mostly replaced the work we used to do in Yammer.

Microsoft Teams

We now use Microsoft Teams for chatting and project communication and it is more effective than Yammer. I do not find a use for Yammer any longer.

The how-to and help information was always helpful but I never needed to contact Microsoft.

Yammer makes sense when you need to quickly collaborate with different groups of people. It probably makes less sense if you already use a similar platform or if you need a more robust project management/file storage option.
