Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Yammer

Our organization uses it as a social media tool for collaborations, announcements, and staying connected. The product solves the requirement of a secure social platform within the organization's active directory and network. However, I think the external equivalents (Twitter, Insta or FB) are far better in terms of UI and algorithm both.

Cons

  • Realtime chat
  • Searching older posts is difficult
  • Low engagement in smaller organizations
  • I am just a user of Yammer so I can't evaluate any ROI
  • However, I can say that utilizing all features of Yammer could've saved millions in a large organization
  • Nothing specific
It could be better by including real-time chat, improving the search capabilities, features like bookmarks & wishlists, etc.

It is not as interactive as Microsoft Teams or Slack.
Finding past conversations and organizing discussions can be challenging.
Some features overlap with Teams, causing confusion on when to use which tool.
My organization has both Teams & Microsoft Yammer. They use Microsoft Yammer for a larger group as a social media tool for the whole organization, more like a one-way communication from the organization towards a large group of employees. However, I think teams is more suitable for smaller teams and posses more interactive features

Good for announcements & discussions
Secure and organization-wide integrations
Enterprise-level collaborations
Good for knowledge sharing

Cons -
Limited engagement in smaller organizations
No real-time chat option
Search issues

I feel that Microsoft Yammer can be better but, somehow it is serving the purpose within the company so no issues with that.
