Overall Satisfaction with MobileIron Acquired by Ivanti

Currently, we use Mobileiron for our mobile device management system. This means that we use it to manage all of our company-owned cell phones that the staff uses, which is about 900 phones. The business problem it addresses is the ability to properly manage company-owned phones, which includes unlocking the phone, resetting the phone, and assigning the phone to staff.
  • Standardize and regulate apps on the phones
  • Useful actions such as remote wipe phone, remote unlock, etc
  • Set standards for security such as forcing an unlock pin
  • Ironing out bugs - occasionally, Mobileiron will report that a phone successfully does a remote wipe when it has not been wiped and becomes unusable due to this.
  • Their documentation is missing a lot, especially after the Ivanti acquisition.
  • Impossible to chase down support, all of the support avenues now lead to dead ends after the Ivanti acquisition.
  • + Easy move to working remotely: Mobileiron made the shift to remote work smooth
  • - Unable to track lost/stolen phones
  • + Blocking certain apps increases productivity
  • Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Microsoft Intune + SCCM)
The main reason why we went with Mobileiron is [that] it was the cheaper option, but it was also extremely convenient that AT&T and Mobileiron had partnered in order to give us devices that already have Mobileiron provisioned onto them, leaving a lot less work for the IT staff on our end.

AT&T Business, Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Microsoft Intune + SCCM), Verizon Cloud
MobileIron is perfect for low-cost devices or phones. Currently, the devices we order are very low cost/sometimes free, so there is not the biggest worry about losing phones. This makes Mobileiron very convenient. Mobileiron is also good for up to medium size companies, although it's very expandable. It's not the most convenient if you have a lot of phones that you need to manually assign to staff, but for a small to medium business, the capabilities are satisfactory.
