Overall Satisfaction with NextGen Healthcare EHR

I am an Office Manager and regional Office Manager, and I also train all the new hires on Nextgen. We are a family practice, pediatric, physical therapy, and mental health facility. We use Nextgen for all of our electronic health records. We have over 200 users, ranging from clerks to providers.

Pros

  • Scheduling
  • Medications
  • Order Modules.
  • Immunizations

Cons

  • Reporting needs improvement.
  • Care Guidelines.
  • Patient Goals.
  • We are still trying to fix billing issues impacting staff and revenue from when we upgraded in March.
We do not have Mobile at this time.
We have a few issues with providers losing documentation that they have previously saved with this last upgrade, but other than that, the flow of documentation is pretty good.

I feel like Nextgen does a great job with Pediatric documentation. The Pediatric Well Child Soap note was a great addition and made it easier for providers. However, the Therapy Suite could be more user-friendly. Our Therapists struggle sometimes to get the documentation that they need on patients.
