Overall Satisfaction with Octoparse
Octoparse. Now this is an interesting company. I was recently promoted to Director of Sales and I knew that in order to get leads, I'd have to be able to scrape the web at my discretion and look for the data that I wanted. That being said I have 0 prior experience with this process before now. And make no mistake, it's technical. With all that in mind, I have only ever had to reach out to their customer service once for help. They responded the same day and I was off and running. Octoparse also has some YouTube videos that have proven helpful. Once I become more proficient with the program we're going to buy more licenses so I can teach more people in my company to use it for other projects.
Pros
- Web Scraping.
- Crawling.
- Data Export.
- Market Comparison Analysis.
Cons
- Haven't had any issues with the program or company. But there's certainly a learning curve. More tutorial videos wouldn't hurt.
- I have the free plan. Every time I land a cold lead generated through scraping it's 100% profit.
I have absolutely no experience with any other web scraping tools. That being said, Octoparse is so good, I've never needed to go find another one to try out. Is it the best thing out there? I have no idea, nor would I be qualified to make that statement. But I can say for someone with little to no background, it's very easy to pick up and start using.
