Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Autonomous Database
I used and recommended Oracle Autonomous Database for many projects like health care, shipping, pharmaceuticals, banking, and supply chain domains. Oracle is a highly secured database and we have used it for high availability, DR, and Load balancing. Oracle Autonomous Database is one of the top best highly secured databases in the world.
- Oracle Autonomous Database is highly secure.
- Oracle Autonomous Database programming language PLSQL/SQL is very systematically designed, used for call functions, procedures, and packages.
- High availability RAC and DR are high-end technology and are very useful for the financial domain.
- The configuration and installations are complex.
- Highly skilled DBA/developers are required to manage.
- PLSQL programing needs to be more flexible.
- The Oracle Autonomous Database "Ready only" feature in DataGuard is great for reporting and high availability.
- License cost can be very expensive.
- It is not suitable for low budget projects.
DB2 is a very old kind of database. SQL Server is not secured like Oracle, and I personally do not recommend it.
