Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
We are using for migrating Oracle SOA app to cloud. My role is as Database Manager. We are using this to centralize all products in one place, so we don't have to install multiple on-premise infrastructures. We have test and dev instances that we can bring up and stop as needed.
- Oracle Cloud is easy to set up, once login access is done.
- It has all parts of the SOA app tier and DB tier we need.
- Oracle helps us in migrating from on-prem to Oracle Cloud. We are using their partner services to do this.
- There is no easy calculator for the cost. Whatever we need to add on, or when we need services, finding the costs is difficult. You always have to work with a salesperson. You can do this for competitors like AWS.
- The total cost of HW+Support+resources all combine into one Oracle Cloud, and it's easy to see the cost.
- It's easy to bring up and shut down the resources.
- Negative, in that there are a lot of options to choose from.
We chose Oracle Cloud Infrastructure because of our migrating Oracle products.
