Overall Satisfaction with Oracle EPM Cloud

It is being used for budgeting and forecasting across the organization. It replaced an Excel-based process that was inefficient, slow and full of errors.

Pros

  • Ad-hoc reporting allows me to decide how data should be displayed.
  • Web forms are intuitive and easy to navigate.
  • Finance can handle tasks that use to require IT.
  • Alternate hierarchies provide a lot of reporting flexibility.

Cons

  • Adding metadata is not easy.
  • Environment is sometimes slow.
  • Web reporting tool could be more robust.
Start with an end vision in mind to avoid costs for reworks and change orders.
  • System is cost effective.
  • Time savings compared to old processes we had.
  • Good ROI as a result of reduced manhours needed in budgeting process.
Access did not seem user-friendly and did not have the security we required. Oracle Planning has robust security and is easy to get used to and use.
Budgeting, reporting, funds distribution, capital, and workforce apps are well suited for it.
