Overall Satisfaction with Oracle SQL Developer
Oracle SQL Developer is used by each and every department in my organization but not all employees work on it. Mainly it is used to store data my organization works on. It is used to keep records of my company for a long time without any need to delete--also hassle free maintenance of data.
- Simple UI. Even new joiners can easily use it.
- Autocomplete feature. It recommends a completion for every line.
- Debugging is easy. Oracle SQL Developer displays what ever the error is.
- Supports various kind of DB. Not just SQL.
- Easy installation and setup.
- It is free to use and one doesn't need to buy anything.
- Easily export data into different formats like Excel, TSV file, text file, html, etc.
- There are fewer features compared to other software available in market.
- Good quality reporting, sorting ,filtering features are not available.
- Lags upon heavy usage.
- Connection from DB gets disconnected if query is stopped.
- Query running status still comes even if at the backend the query has been stopped and person keeps on waiting.
- It gives 100% return on investment as it is free of cost.
- Considering the employee training, so one can save money on training, as it is not very hard to use so still savings.
- Working on it will be time consuming sometimes due to lag issues. So it can cost you your time.
Oracle SQL Developer is better than SQL server, as it is easy to set up and install. Oracle SQL Developer is better in UI than SQL server. The features are almost the same. In comparison to DBeaver, it is much easier to set up as DBeaver's installation and setup is very complicated. DBeaver sometimes works fine and sometimes not. But Oracle SQL Developer works fine every time.
