Overall Satisfaction with Palo Alto Panorama

We use Palo Alto Panorama to manage all of our hardware firewalls as well as to manage our VM Firewalls in the cloud and in our VMWare environment for layer 7 hand off. We do all configuration to the firewalls on their templates and device groups. We download configs and use it as a centralized repository for logs .

  • Too many buggy codes for us
  • In my experience, updates breaking connection
  • In my experience, the credit system to spin up Palo Alto Panoramas is a nightmare

It is a solid product, it allows me to connect multiple devices and to manage my cloud, on prem and vmware firewalling devices. I can assign roles with the required visibility depending on the users. I can also consolidate all my logs into it to have a single pane of visibility.
Palo Alto Panorama is more complete and allowed me to better monitor my firewall. The other application is limited on certain aspects, Palo Alto Panorama gives me high in-depth view of my firewalls as well as with my IoT licensing it gives me suggestions on potential policies that can take care of my IoT devices and better secure them.

The centralized visibility helps me keep my logs in check as well as it allows me to manage the health and visibility of my firewalls. The fact that I can create shared items to use in all vsys or firewalls gives me flexibility to get use items in different areas.
